²¹ Others said, “These are not the words of one who is oppressed by a demon. ^(A)Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”

¹¹ Then the Lord said to him, “Who has made man's mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?

³² Never since the world began has it been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a man born blind. ^33 (A)If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.”

⁶ Having said these things, ^(A)he spit on the ground and made mud with the saliva. ^(B)Then he anointed the man's eyes with the mud

^5 (A)the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers^[a] are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and ^(B)the poor have good news preached to them.

²⁴ So his fame spread throughout all ^(A)Syria, and ^(B)they brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and ^(C)pains, ^(D)those oppressed by demons, ^(E)those having seizures, and ^(F)paralytics, and he healed them.
