⁴¹ The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ).^(A)

²⁵ The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ)^(A) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”

⁴⁵ Philip found Nathanael^(A) and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law,^(B) and about whom the prophets also wrote^(C)—Jesus of Nazareth,^(D) the son of Joseph.”^(E)

³ Many peoples^(A) will come and say,

²⁸ Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, ²⁹ “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did.^(A) Could this be the Messiah?”^(B)

³⁸ Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.^(A)

²⁵ “Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild^(A) Jerusalem until the Anointed One,^[a](B) the ruler,^(C) comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble.^{(D) 26} After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be put to death^(E) and will have nothing.^[b] The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood:^(F) War will continue until the end, and desolations^(G) have been decreed.^(H)
