Hebrews 5:5-11
New American Standard Bible
5 So too Christ (A)did not glorify Himself in becoming a (B)high priest, but it was He who (C)said to Him,
“(D)You are My Son,
Today I have fathered You”;
6 just as He also says in another passage,
7 In the days of [a]His humanity, [b](G)He offered up both prayers and pleas with (H)loud crying and tears to the One (I)able to save Him [c]from death, and He [d]was heard because of His (J)devout behavior. 8 Although He was (K)a Son, He learned (L)obedience from the things which He suffered. 9 And having been (M)perfected, He became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey Him, 10 being designated by God as (N)High Priest according to (O)the order of Melchizedek.
11 Concerning [e]him we have much to say, and it is difficult to explain, since you have become [f]poor listeners.
