True Vision and True Blindness
35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had (A)found him, He said to him, “Do you (B)believe in (C)the Son of [a]God?”
36 He answered and said, “Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?”
37 And Jesus said to him, “You have both seen Him and (D)it is He who is talking with you.”
38 Then he said, “Lord, I believe!” And he (E)worshiped Him.
39 And Jesus said, (F)“For judgment I have come into this world, (G)that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind.”
40 Then some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, (H)and said to Him, “Are we blind also?”
41 Jesus said to them, (I)“If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains.
Jesus the True Shepherd
10 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by (J)name and leads them out. 4 And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. 5 Yet they will by no means follow a (K)stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” 6 Jesus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them.

40 και ηκουσαν εκ των φαρισαιων ταυτα οι οντες μετ αυτου και ειπον αυτω μη και ημεις τυφλοι εσμεν
41 ειπεν αυτοις ο ιησους ει τυφλοι ητε ουκ αν ειχετε αμαρτιαν νυν δε λεγετε οτι βλεπομεν η ουν αμαρτια υμων μενει
10 αμην αμην λεγω υμιν ο μη εισερχομενος δια της θυρας εις την αυλην των προβατων αλλα αναβαινων αλλαχοθεν εκεινος κλεπτης εστιν και ληστης
2 ο δε εισερχομενος δια της θυρας ποιμην εστιν των προβατων
3 τουτω ο θυρωρος ανοιγει και τα προβατα της φωνης αυτου ακουει και τα ιδια προβατα καλει κατ ονομα και εξαγει αυτα
4 και οταν τα ιδια προβατα εκβαλη εμπροσθεν αυτων πορευεται και τα προβατα αυτω ακολουθει οτι οιδασιν την φωνην αυτου
5 αλλοτριω δε ου μη ακολουθησωσιν αλλα φευξονται απ αυτου οτι ουκ οιδασιν των αλλοτριων την φωνην
6 ταυτην την παροιμιαν ειπεν αυτοις ο ιησους εκεινοι δε ουκ εγνωσαν τινα ην α ελαλει αυτοις

35 Jesus heard that they cast him forth without, and having found him, he said to him, `Dost thou believe in the Son of God?'
36 he answered and said, `Who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?'
37 And Jesus said to him, `Thou hast both seen him, and he who is speaking with thee is he;'
38 and he said, `I believe, sir,' and bowed before him.
39 And Jesus said, `For judgment I to this world did come, that those not seeing may see, and those seeing may become blind.'
40 And those of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and they said to him, `Are we also blind?'
41 Jesus said to them, `If ye were blind, ye were not having had sin, but now ye say -- We see, therefore doth your sin remain.
10 `Verily, verily, I say to you, He who is not entering through the door to the fold of the sheep, but is going up from another side, that one is a thief and a robber;
2 and he who is entering through the door is shepherd of the sheep;
3 to this one the doorkeeper doth open, and the sheep hear his voice, and his own sheep he doth call by name, and doth lead them forth;
4 and when his own sheep he may put forth, before them he goeth on, and the sheep follow him, because they have known his voice;
5 and a stranger they will not follow, but will flee from him, because they have not known the voice of strangers.'
6 This similitude spake Jesus to them, and they knew not what the things were that he was speaking to them;

Parable of the Good Shepherd
10 “Truly, truly I say to you, the one who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is (L)a thief and a robber. 2 But the one who enters by the door is (M)a shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep listen to (N)his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and (O)leads them out. 4 When he puts all his own sheep outside, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know (P)his voice. 5 However, a stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know (Q)the voice of strangers.” 6 Jesus told them this (R)figure of speech, but they did not understand what the things which He was saying to them [d]meant.

Spiritual Blindness
35 Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and when he found him, he said, “Do you believe(A) in the Son of Man?”(B)
36 “Who is he, sir?” the man asked. “Tell me so that I may believe in him.”(C)
37 Jesus said, “You have now seen him; in fact, he is the one speaking with you.”(D)
38 Then the man said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him.(E)
39 Jesus said,[a] “For judgment(F) I have come into this world,(G) so that the blind will see(H) and those who see will become blind.”(I)
40 Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, “What? Are we blind too?”(J)
41 Jesus said, “If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.(K)
The Good Shepherd and His Sheep
10 “Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.(L) 2 The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.(M) 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice.(N) He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.(O) 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.(P) 5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” 6 Jesus used this figure of speech,(Q) but the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them.(R)
