Christ’s Death Fulfills God’s Will(A)

Therefore, when He came into the world, He said:

(B)“Sacrifice and offering You did not desire,
But a body You have prepared for Me.
In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin
You had no pleasure.
Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—
In the volume of the book it is written of Me—
To do Your will, O God.’ ”

Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the law), then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, [a]O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second. 10 (C)By that will we have been [b]sanctified (D)through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Christ’s Death Perfects the Sanctified

11 And every priest stands (E)ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 (F)But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down (G)at the right hand of God,

Therefore, when Christ came into the world,(A) he said:

“Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,

with burnt offerings and sin offerings
    you were not pleased.
Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll(C)
I have come to do your will, my God.’”[a](D)

First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them”(E)—though they were offered in accordance with the law. Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.”(F) He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10 And by that will, we have been made holy(G) through the sacrifice of the body(H) of Jesus Christ once for all.(I)

11 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices,(J) which can never take away sins.(K) 12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins,(L) he sat down at the right hand of God,(M)
