7 For (A)they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind. The standing grain has no heads; it shall yield no flour; if it were to yield, (B)strangers would devour it. 8 (C)Israel is swallowed up; already they are among the nations as (D)a useless vessel.
8 (A)Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. (B)Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and (C)purify your hearts, (D)you double-minded.9 (E)Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.
13 “But woe (A)to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you (B)shut the kingdom of heaven in people's faces. For you (C)neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in.[a]

44 And I will punish (A)Bel in Babylon, and (B)take out of his mouth (C)what he has swallowed. (D)The nations shall no longer flow to him; (E)the wall of Babylon has fallen.

15 (A)What right has my beloved in my house, (B)when she has done many vile deeds? Can even sacrificial flesh avert your doom? (C)Can you then exult?16 The Lord once called you (D)‘a green olive tree, beautiful with good fruit.’ But (E)with the roar of a great tempest he will set fire to it, and (F)its branches will be consumed.
7 (A)The wine mourns, the vine languishes, all the merry-hearted sigh. 8 (B)The mirth of the tambourines is stilled, the noise of the jubilant has ceased, the mirth of the lyre is stilled. 9 No more do they drink wine (C)with singing; strong drink is bitter to those who drink it. 10 (D)The wasted city is broken down; (E)every house is shut up so that none can enter. 11 (F)There is an outcry in the streets for lack of wine; (G)all joy has grown dark; the gladness of the earth is banished.
