¹⁷ He will not enjoy the streams,
    the rivers^(A) flowing with honey^(B) and cream.^(C)

¹³ He made him ride on the heights^(A) of the land
    and fed him with the fruit of the fields.
He nourished him with honey from the rock,^(B)
    and with oil^(C) from the flinty crag,
¹⁴ with curds and milk from herd and flock
    and with fattened lambs and goats,
with choice rams of Bashan^(D)
    and the finest kernels of wheat.^(E)
You drank the foaming blood of the grape.^(F)

⁶ when my path was drenched with cream^(A)
    and the rock^(B) poured out for me streams of olive oil.^(C)

⁶ That person will be like a bush in the wastelands;
    they will not see prosperity when it comes.
They will dwell in the parched places^(A) of the desert,
    in a salt^(B) land where no one lives.

⁷ “But blessed^(C) is the one who trusts^(D) in the Lord,
    whose confidence is in him.
⁸ They will be like a tree planted by the water
    that sends out its roots by the stream.^(E)
It does not fear when heat comes;
    its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought^(F)
    and never fails to bear fruit.”^(G)

¹⁷ “The poor and needy search for water,^(A)
    but there is none;
    their tongues are parched with thirst.^(B)
But I the Lord will answer^(C) them;
    I, the God of Israel, will not forsake^(D) them.
