³⁷ For ^[a]the ^(A)coming of the Son of Man will be ^(B)just like the days of Noah. ³⁸ For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, ^(C)marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that ^(D)Noah entered the ark, ³⁹ and they did not ^[b]understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the ^(E)coming of the Son of Man be.

^24 (A)For just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one part ^[a]of the sky, shines to the other part ^[b]of the sky, so will the Son of Man be in His day. ^25 (B)But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. ^26 (C)And just as it happened ^(D)in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: ²⁷ they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

⁷ By faith ^(A)Noah, being ^(B)warned by God about ^(C)things not yet seen, ^[a](D)in reverence ^(E)prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of ^(F)the righteousness which is according to faith.

²⁰ who once were disobedient, when the ^(A)patience of God ^(B)kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of ^(C)the ark, in which a few, that is, ^(D)eight ^(E)persons, were brought safely through the ^[a]water.

⁵ and did not spare ^(A)the ancient world, but preserved ^(B)Noah, a ^[a]preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a ^(C)flood upon the world of the ungodly;
