²⁵ let their flesh be renewed^(A) like a child’s;
    let them be restored as in the days of their youth’^(B)—
²⁶ then that person can pray to God and find favor with him,^(C)
    they will see God’s face and shout for joy;^(D)
    he will restore them to full well-being.^(E)
27 And they will go to others and say,
    ‘I have sinned,^(F) I have perverted what is right,^(G)
    but I did not get what I deserved.^(H)

³⁷ their hearts were not loyal^(A) to him,
    they were not faithful to his covenant.

⁴⁰ “He has blinded their eyes
    and hardened their hearts,
so they can neither see with their eyes,
    nor understand with their hearts,
    nor turn—and I would heal them.”^[a](A)

²⁷ For this people’s heart has become calloused;^(A)
    they hardly hear with their ears,
    and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
    hear with their ears,
    understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.’^[a](B)
