¹³ From those who ^(A)forsake the paths of uprightness
To walk in the ^(B)ways of darkness;

⁹ Therefore ^(A)justice is far from us,
And righteousness does not overtake us;
We ^(B)hope for light, but behold, darkness,
For brightness, but we walk in thick darkness.
¹⁰ We ^(C)grope along the wall like blind men;
We grope like those who have no eyes;
We ^(D)stumble at midday as in the twilight,
Among those who are vigorous we are ^(E)like dead men.

¹² “Therefore their way will be like ^(A)slippery paths to them;
They will be driven away into the ^(B)thick darkness and fall down in it;
For I will bring their ^(C)evil upon them,
The year of their ^[a]punishment,” declares Yahweh.
