¹⁸ For this reason they tried all the more to kill him;^(A) not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.^(B)

¹⁰ and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior^(A) attractive.^(B)

¹¹ For the grace^(C) of God has appeared^(D) that offers salvation to all people.^{(E) 12} It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions,^(F) and to live self-controlled,^(G) upright and godly lives^(H) in this present age, ¹³ while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing^(I) of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,^(J)
