Jeremiah 8:10-12

10 Therefore I will (A)give their wives to others,
Their fields to [a]new possessors,
Because from the least even to the greatest
Everyone is (B)greedy for gain;
From the prophet even to the priest
Everyone practices lying.
11 They (C)heal the brokenness of the daughter of My people superficially,
Saying, ‘Peace, peace,’
But there is no peace.
12 Were they (D)ashamed because of the abomination they had done?
They certainly were not ashamed,
And they did not know how to feel dishonor;
Therefore they shall (E)fall among those who fall;
At the (F)time of their [b]punishment they shall be brought down,”
Says Yahweh.

New English Translation
10 [a] So I will give their wives to other men
and their fields to new owners.
For from the least important to the most important of them,
all of them are greedy for dishonest gain.
Prophets and priests alike
all practice deceit.
11 They offer only superficial help
for the hurt my dear people[b] have suffered.[c]
They say, “Everything will be all right!”
But everything is not all right.[d]
12 Are they ashamed because they have done such disgusting things?
No, they are not at all ashamed!
They do not even know how to blush.
So they will die just like others have died.[e]
They will be brought to ruin when I punish them,
says the Lord.
