⁹ Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery and swear while lying, and ^(A)burn incense to Baal and walk after ^(B)other gods that you have not known,

⁴ Because they have ^(A)forsaken Me and have ^(B)made this a foreign place and have burned incense in it to ^(C)other gods, that neither they nor their fathers nor the kings of Judah had ever known, and because they have filled this place with the ^(D)blood of the innocent

¹⁷ But rather we will certainly ^(A)carry out every word that has proceeded from our mouths, ^[a]by burning incense to the ^(B)queen of heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, just as ^(C)we ourselves, our fathers, our kings, and our princes did in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then we had ^(D)plenty of ^[b]food and were well off and saw no evil.
