⁷Babylon was a golden cup in the Lord’s hand,
making all the earth drunken;
the nations drank of her wine,
and so the nations went mad.^(A)

New International Version

⁷Babylon was a gold cup^(A) in the Lord’s hand;
she made the whole earth drunk.
The nations drank her wine;
therefore they have now gone mad.

¹¹You also will be drunken;
you will go into hiding;^[a]
you will seek
a refuge from the enemy.^(A)

¹¹You too will become drunk;^(A)
you will go into hiding^(B)
and seek refuge from the enemy.
