²⁶ For wicked men are found among My people;
They ^(A)watch like fowlers ^[a]lying in wait;
They set a ^[b]trap;
They catch men.
²⁷ Like a cage full of birds,
So their houses are full of ^(B)deceit;
Therefore they have become great and rich.
²⁸ They are ^(C)fat, they are sleek;
They also ^[c]excel in deeds of evil;
They do not plead the cause,
The cause of the ^[d](D)orphan, that they may succeed;
And they do not ^[e]render justice for the poor.

³ Concerning evil, both hands do it ^(A)well.
The prince asks, also the judge, for a ^(B)payment,
And a great man speaks the craving of his soul;
So they weave it together.
