² Therefore this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says to the shepherds^(A) who tend my people: “Because you have scattered my flock^(B) and driven them away and have not bestowed care on them, I will bestow punishment on you for the evil^(C) you have done,” declares the Lord.

³¹ I will punish him and his children^(A) and his attendants for their wickedness; I will bring on them and those living in Jerusalem and the people of Judah every disaster^(B) I pronounced against them, because they have not listened.^(C)’”

²⁹ “‘This will be the sign^(A) to you that I will punish^(B) you in this place,’ declares the Lord, ‘so that you will know that my threats of harm against you will surely stand.’^(C)
