⁷ And now thus says the Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel: Why do you commit this great evil ^(A)against yourselves, to cut off from you ^(B)man and woman, ^(C)infant and child, from the midst of Judah, leaving you no remnant?

³⁸ As for the censers of ^(A)these men who have sinned at the cost of their lives, let them be made into hammered plates as a covering for the altar, for they offered them before the Lord, and they became holy. ^(B)Thus they shall be a sign to the people of Israel.”

¹¹ Say to them, ^(A)As I live, declares the Lord God, ^(B)I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; ^(C)turn back, turn back from your evil ways, ^(D)for why will you die, O house of Israel?

^27 (A)Behold, I am watching over them for disaster and not for good. ^(B)All the men of Judah who are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by famine, until there is an end of them. ^28 (C)And those who escape the sword shall return from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah, ^(D)few in number; and all the remnant of Judah, who came to the land of Egypt to live, ^(E)shall know whose word will stand, mine or theirs.

^14 (A)so that none of the remnant of Judah who have come to live in the land of Egypt shall escape or survive ^(B)or return to the land of Judah, to which they desire to return to dwell there. For they shall not return, ^(C)except some fugitives.”
