43 When Jeremiah had finished telling the people all the words of the Lord their God—everything the Lord had sent him to tell them^(A)—

⁸ But as soon as Jeremiah finished telling all the people everything the Lord had commanded^(A) him to say, the priests, the prophets and all the people seized^(B) him and said, “You must die!^(C)

⁶³ When you finish reading this scroll, tie a stone to it and throw it into the Euphrates.^(A)

²² So now, be sure of this: You will die by the sword, famine^(A) and plague^(B) in the place where you want to go to settle.”^(C)

²⁷ For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God.^(A)

²⁰ “Go, stand in the temple courts,” he said, “and tell the people all about this new life.”^(A)

²⁰ and teaching^(A) them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you^(B) always, to the very end of the age.”^(C)

³ Pray that the Lord your God will tell us where we should go and what we should do.”^(A)

⁴ “I have heard you,” replied Jeremiah the prophet. “I will certainly pray^(B) to the Lord your God as you have requested; I will tell^(C) you everything the Lord says and will keep nothing back from you.”^(D)

⁵ Then they said to Jeremiah, “May the Lord be a true^(E) and faithful^(F) witness^(G) against us if we do not act in accordance with everything the Lord your God sends you to tell us.

² “This is what the Lord says: Stand in the courtyard^(A) of the Lord’s house and speak to all the people of the towns of Judah who come to worship in the house of the Lord.^(B) Tell^(C) them everything I command you; do not omit^(D) a word.
