¹³ Then young women will dance and be glad,
    young men and old as well.
I will turn their mourning^(A) into gladness;
    I will give them comfort^(B) and joy^(C) instead of sorrow.

¹¹ You turned my wailing^(A) into dancing;^(B)
    you removed my sackcloth^(C) and clothed me with joy,^(D)

¹¹ Those the Lord has rescued^(A) will return.
    They will enter Zion with singing;^(B)
    everlasting joy will crown their heads.
Gladness and joy^(C) will overtake them,
    and sorrow and sighing will flee away.^(D)

⁴ I will build you up again,
    and you, Virgin^(A) Israel, will be rebuilt.^(B)
Again you will take up your timbrels^(C)
    and go out to dance^(D) with the joyful.^(E)

²⁰ Your sun^(A) will never set again,
    and your moon will wane no more;
the Lord will be your everlasting light,
    and your days of sorrow^(B) will end.
