³ “For twenty-three years, ^(A)from the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, to this day, the word of the Lord has come to me, and I have spoken ^(B)persistently to you, ^(C)but you have not listened.

^5 (A)and to listen to the words of my servants the prophets whom I send to you ^(B)urgently, ^(C)though you have not listened,

⁷ For I solemnly warned your fathers when I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, ^(A)warning them persistently, even to this day, saying, ^(B)Obey my voice.

² to whom the word of the Lord came in the days of ^(A)Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, in ^(B)the thirteenth year of his reign.

¹³ And now, because you have done all these things, declares the Lord, and ^(A)when I spoke to you persistently you did not listen, and ^(B)when I called you, you did not answer,

¹⁹ because they did not pay attention to my words, declares the Lord, ^(A)that I persistently sent to you by my servants the prophets, but you would not listen, declares the Lord.’

^8 (A)Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had cleansed the land and the house, he sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, and Maaseiah the ^(B)governor of the city, and Joah the son of Joahaz, ^(C)the recorder, to repair the house of the Lord his God.

³ For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet a boy, he began to seek the God of David his father, and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem of the high places, the ^(A)Asherim, and the carved and the metal images.

² preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; ^(A)reprove, rebuke, and ^(B)exhort, with complete patience and teaching.
