Zephaniah 2:8-11
English Standard Version
8 “I have heard (A)the taunts of Moab
and (B)the revilings of the Ammonites,
how they have taunted my people
and made boasts (C)against their territory.
9 Therefore, (D)as I live,” declares the Lord of hosts,
the God of Israel,
“Moab shall become (E)like Sodom,
and the Ammonites (F)like Gomorrah,
a land possessed by nettles and salt pits,
and a waste forever.
The remnant of my people shall plunder them,
and the survivors of my nation shall possess them.”
10 This shall be their lot in return (G)for their pride,
because they taunted and boasted
against the people of the Lord of hosts.
11 The Lord will be awesome against them;
(H)for he will famish all the gods of the earth,
and (I)to him shall bow down,
each in its place,
all (J)the lands of the nations.
Zephaniah 2:8-11
New International Version
Moab and Ammon
8 “I have heard the insults(A) of Moab(B)
and the taunts of the Ammonites,(C)
who insulted(D) my people
and made threats against their land.(E)
9 Therefore, as surely as I live,”
declares the Lord Almighty,
the God of Israel,
“surely Moab(F) will become like Sodom,(G)
the Ammonites(H) like Gomorrah—
a place of weeds and salt pits,
a wasteland forever.
The remnant of my people will plunder(I) them;
the survivors(J) of my nation will inherit their land.(K)”
Amos 1:13-15
English Standard Version
13 Thus says the Lord:
(A)“For three transgressions of the (B)Ammonites,
and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
because (C)they have ripped open pregnant women in (D)Gilead,
that they might enlarge their border.
14 So I will kindle a fire in the wall of (E)Rabbah,
(F)and it shall devour her strongholds,
with shouting on the day of battle,
(G)with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind;
15 and (H)their king shall go into exile,
he and his princes[a] together,”
says the Lord.

14 I will set fire to the walls of Rabbah(C)
that will consume(D) her fortresses
amid war cries(E) on the day of battle,
amid violent winds(F) on a stormy day.
15 Her king[a] will go into exile,
he and his officials together,(G)”

English Standard Version
2 (A)“Son of man, (B)set your face toward (C)the Ammonites and prophesy against them. 3 Say to the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord God: (D)Thus says the Lord God, Because you said, (E)‘Aha!’ over my (F)sanctuary when it was profaned, and over the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and over the house of Judah when they went into exile, 4 therefore behold, I am handing you over to (G)the people of the East for a possession, and they shall set their encampments among you and make their dwellings in your midst. They shall eat your fruit, and they shall drink your milk. 5 I will make (H)Rabbah a (I)pasture for camels and Ammon[a] (J)a fold for flocks. (K)Then you will know that I am the Lord. 6 For thus says the Lord God: Because (L)you have clapped your hands (M)and stamped your feet and (N)rejoiced with all the (O)malice within your soul against the land of Israel, 7 therefore, behold, (P)I have stretched out my hand against you, and (Q)will hand you over as plunder to the nations. And I will cut you off from the peoples and will make you perish out of the countries; I will destroy you. Then you will know that I am the Lord.
Prophecy Against Moab and Seir
8 “Thus says the Lord God: Because (R)Moab and (S)Seir[b] said, ‘Behold, the (T)house of Judah is like all the other nations,’ 9 therefore (U)I will lay open the flank of Moab from the cities, from its cities on its frontier, the glory of the country, (V)Beth-jeshimoth, (W)Baal-meon, and (X)Kiriathaim. 10 I will give it (Y)along with the Ammonites (Z)to the people of the East as a possession, (AA)that the Ammonites may be remembered no more among the nations,
