⁴ “I have heard you,” replied Jeremiah the prophet. “I will certainly pray^(A) to the Lord your God as you have requested; I will tell^(B) you everything the Lord says and will keep nothing back from you.”^(C)

²³ As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray^(A) for you. And I will teach^(B) you the way that is good and right.

¹⁷ “What was it he said to you?” Eli asked. “Do not hide^(A) it from me. May God deal with you, be it ever so severely,^(B) if you hide from me anything he told you.” ¹⁸ So Samuel told him everything, hiding nothing from him. Then Eli said, “He is the Lord; let him do what is good in his eyes.”^(C)

²⁹ Moses answered, “As soon as I leave you, I will pray to the Lord, and tomorrow the flies will leave Pharaoh and his officials and his people. Only let Pharaoh be sure that he does not act deceitfully^(A) again by not letting the people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord.”
