²² As ^(A)the host of heaven cannot be numbered and ^(B)the sands of the sea cannot be measured, so I will multiply the offspring of David my servant, and the Levitical priests who minister to me.”

¹⁷ I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your offspring ^(A)as the stars of heaven and ^(B)as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess ^(C)the gate of his^[a] enemies,

⁵ And he brought him outside and said, “Look toward heaven, and ^(A)number the stars, if you are able to number them.” Then he said to him, ^(B)“So shall your offspring be.”

¹² Therefore from one man, and ^(A)him as good as dead, were born descendants ^(B)as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore.

²⁴ “My servant ^(A)David ^(B)shall be king over them, and they shall all have ^(C)one shepherd. ^(D)They shall walk in my rules and be careful to obey my statutes. ^25 (E)They shall dwell in the land that I gave to my servant Jacob, where your fathers lived. They and their children and their children's children shall dwell there ^(F)forever, and David my servant shall be their prince ^(G)forever. ^26 (H)I will make a covenant of peace with them. It shall be ^(I)an everlasting covenant with them. And I will set them in their land^[a] and ^(J)multiply them, and will ^(K)set my sanctuary in their midst forevermore. ^27 (L)My dwelling place shall be with them, ^(M)and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
