Rich Oppressors Will Be Judged
5 Come now, you (A)rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you! 2 Your (B)riches [a]are corrupted, and (C)your garments are moth-eaten. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. (D)You have heaped up treasure in the last days. 4 Indeed (E)the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and (F)the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of [b]Sabaoth. 5 You have lived on the earth in pleasure and [c]luxury; you have [d]fattened your hearts [e]as in a day of slaughter. 6 You have condemned, you have murdered the just; he does not resist you.
Be Patient and Persevering
7 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. 8 You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord [f]is at hand.
9 Do not [g]grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be [h]condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door! 10 (G)My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and (H)patience. 11 Indeed (I)we count them blessed who (J)endure. You have heard of (K)the perseverance of Job and seen (L)the end intended by the Lord—that (M)the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.
12 But above all, my brethren, (N)do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your “Yes” be “Yes,” and your “No,” “No,” lest you fall into [i]judgment.
Meeting Specific Needs(O)
13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him (P)pray. Is anyone cheerful? (Q)Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, (R)anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. (S)And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 [j]Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. (T)The effective, [k]fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 17 Elijah was a man (U)with a nature like ours, and (V)he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed (W)again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.
Bring Back the Erring One
19 Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone (X)turns him back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way (Y)will save [l]a soul from death and (Z)cover a multitude of sins.

Advertencias a los ricos
5 ¡Oigan[a] ahora(A), ricos(B)! Lloren y aúllen por las miserias que vienen sobre ustedes(C). 2 Sus riquezas se han podrido(D) y sus ropas están comidas de polilla. 3 Su oro y su plata se han oxidado, su herrumbre será un testigo contra ustedes y consumirá su carne como fuego. Es en[b] los últimos días que han acumulado tesoros(E). 4 Miren, el jornal de los obreros que han segado sus campos(F) y que ha sido retenido por ustedes, clama contra ustedes. El clamor de los segadores(G) ha llegado a los oídos del Señor de los ejércitos[c](H).
5 Han vivido lujosamente sobre la tierra(I), y han llevado una vida de placer desenfrenado. Han engordado[d] sus corazones en el día de la matanza(J). 6 Han condenado y dado muerte[e](K) al justo(L). Él no les hace resistencia.
Exhortación a la paciencia
7 Por tanto, hermanos(M), sean pacientes hasta la venida del Señor(N). Miren cómo el labrador espera el fruto precioso de la tierra(O), siendo paciente en ello hasta que recibe la lluvia temprana y la tardía(P). 8 Sean también ustedes pacientes(Q). Fortalezcan sus corazones(R), porque la venida del Señor(S) está cerca(T). 9 Hermanos(U), no se quejen unos contra otros(V), para que no sean juzgados. Ya el Juez(W) está a[f] las puertas(X). 10 Hermanos(Y), tomen como ejemplo de paciencia y aflicción a los profetas(Z) que hablaron en el nombre del Señor. 11 Miren que tenemos por bienaventurados(AA) a los que sufrieron[g]. Han oído de la paciencia[h](AB) de Job, y han visto el resultado del proceder[i] del Señor(AC), que el Señor es muy compasivo y misericordioso(AD).
Exhortaciones varias
12 Y sobre todo, hermanos míos(AE), no juren, ni por el cielo, ni por la tierra, ni con ningún otro juramento. Antes bien, sea el sí de ustedes[j], sí, y su no[k], no(AF), para que no caigan bajo juicio.
13 ¿Sufre alguien entre ustedes(AG)? Que haga oración(AH). ¿Está alguien alegre? Que cante alabanzas(AI). 14 ¿Está alguien entre ustedes enfermo? Que llame a los ancianos de la iglesia(AJ) y que ellos oren por él, ungiéndolo[l] con aceite en el nombre del Señor(AK). 15 La oración de fe(AL) restaurará[m] al enfermo(AM), y el Señor lo levantará(AN). Si ha cometido pecados le serán perdonados[n].
16 Por tanto, confiésense sus pecados unos a otros(AO), y oren unos por otros para que sean sanados(AP). La oración[o] eficaz(AQ) del justo puede lograr mucho. 17 Elías era un hombre de pasiones semejantes a las nuestras[p](AR), y oró fervientemente[q] para que no lloviera(AS), y no llovió sobre la tierra por tres años y seis meses(AT). 18 Oró de nuevo(AU), y el cielo dio lluvia(AV) y la tierra produjo su fruto.
19 Hermanos míos, si alguien de entre ustedes(AW) se extravía de la verdad(AX) y alguien le hace volver, 20 sepa[r] que el que hace volver a un pecador del error de su camino salvará su alma de muerte(AY), y cubrirá multitud de pecados(AZ).

警告為富不仁者
5 你們這些富有的人啊！為那將要臨到你們身上的災難痛哭哀號吧！ 2 你們的財物朽壞了，衣服也被蟲蛀了。 3 你們的金銀生了鏽，那鏽必要指控你們，像火一樣吞噬你們的身體。在末世的日子裡，你們只知道積攢財寶。 4 工人替你們收割莊稼，你們卻剋扣他們的工錢。那工錢發出不平的呼喊，工人的冤聲已經傳到萬軍之主的耳中了。 5 你們在世上奢侈享樂，在被宰殺的日子裡，把自己養得肥肥胖胖。 6 你們冤枉好人、殘害無辜，他們也沒有反抗。
要忍耐到底
7 弟兄姊妹，你們要一直忍耐到主來。你們看農夫怎樣耐心等候地裡寶貴的出產，等候秋雨和春雨的降臨。 8 同樣，你們也要忍耐，心志堅定，因為主快來了。 9 弟兄姊妹，不要互相埋怨，免得受審判。你們看，審判的主已經站在門外了。 10 弟兄姊妹，你們要效法從前奉主的名說話的先知，以他們的受苦和忍耐為榜樣。 11 我們認為那些忍耐到底的人是有福的。你們都知道約伯的忍耐，也知道主最終怎樣待他，因為主充滿憐憫和慈悲。
12 我的弟兄姊妹，最重要的是不可起誓，不可指著天起誓，也不可指著地起誓，不可指著任何東西起誓。你們說話，是就說是，不是就說不是，免得你們受審判。
禱告的力量
13 你們中間正在受苦的人應該禱告，喜樂的人應該唱歌讚美， 14 生病的人應該請教會的長老來，奉主的名用油抹他的身體並為他禱告。 15 出於信心的禱告必能使病人痊癒，主必使他康復。倘若他犯了罪，也必得到赦免。 16 所以你們要彼此認罪，互相代禱，好得到醫治。義人的禱告有極大的力量和功效。 17 以利亞先知和我們一樣同是血肉之軀，他懇切地祈求不要下雨，結果三年半沒有下雨。 18 後來他再禱告求雨，天就降雨，地也長出了莊稼。
19 我的弟兄姊妹，如果有人領一個偏離真道的人歸回正路， 20 他該知道：使一個迷途中的罪人歸回正路就是救一個靈魂脫離死亡，並且會遮蓋許多罪。

Warning to Rich Oppressors
5 Now listen,(A) you rich people,(B) weep and wail(C) because of the misery that is coming on you. 2 Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes.(D) 3 Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days.(E) 4 Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers(F) who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries(G) of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty.(H) 5 You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves(I) in the day of slaughter.[a](J) 6 You have condemned and murdered(K) the innocent one,(L) who was not opposing you.
Patience in Suffering
7 Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming.(M) See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting(N) for the autumn and spring rains.(O) 8 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming(P) is near.(Q) 9 Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters,(R) or you will be judged. The Judge(S) is standing at the door!(T)
10 Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets(U) who spoke in the name of the Lord. 11 As you know, we count as blessed(V) those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance(W) and have seen what the Lord finally brought about.(X) The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.(Y)
12 Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned.(Z)
The Prayer of Faith
13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray.(AA) Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.(AB) 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders(AC) of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil(AD) in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith(AE) will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins(AF) to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.(AG) The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.(AH)
17 Elijah was a human being, even as we are.(AI) He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.(AJ) 18 Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.(AK)
19 My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth(AL) and someone should bring that person back,(AM) 20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save(AN) them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.(AO)

3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.
4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.
5 Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
6 Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.
7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
12 But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
