2 (A)Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread,
and your labor for that which does not satisfy?
Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good,
and delight yourselves in rich food.
3 Incline your ear, and come to me;
(B)hear, that your soul may live;
(C)and I will make with you an everlasting covenant,
(D)my steadfast, sure love for (E)David.
4 (F)Behold, I made him a witness to the peoples,
(G)a leader and commander for the peoples.

Listen carefully to Me, and (B)eat what is good,
And (C)delight your soul in richness.
3 (D)Incline your ear and come to Me.
Listen, that your soul may (E)live;
And I will cut (F)an everlasting covenant with you,
According to the (G)faithful lovingkindnesses of David.
4 Behold, I have given (H)him as a witness to the peoples,
A (I)ruler and commander for the peoples.
