Isaiah 52:7
Christian Standard Bible
7 How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of the herald,
who proclaims peace,
who brings news of good things,(A)
who proclaims salvation,
who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” (B)
Isaiah 9:2-7
Christian Standard Bible
2 The people walking in darkness
have seen a great light;(A)
a light has dawned
on those living in the land of darkness.(B)
3 You have enlarged the nation
and increased its joy.[a](C)
The people have rejoiced before you
as they rejoice at harvest time
and as they rejoice when dividing spoils.(D)
4 For you have shattered their oppressive yoke(E)
and the rod on their shoulders,
the staff of their oppressor,
just as you did on the day of Midian.(F)
5 For every trampling boot of battle
and the bloodied garments of war
will be burned as fuel for the fire.
6 For a child will be born for us,
a son will be given to us,(G)
and the government will be on his shoulders.(H)
He will be named
Wonderful Counselor,(I) Mighty God,(J)
Eternal Father,(K) Prince of Peace.(L)
7 The dominion will be vast,
and its prosperity will never end.(M)
He will reign on the throne of David
and over his kingdom,
to establish and sustain it
with justice and righteousness from now on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord of Armies will accomplish this.(N)

The Song of Judah
26 On that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah:
We have a strong city.
Salvation is established as walls and ramparts.(A)
2 Open the gates
so a righteous nation can come in—
one that remains faithful.
3 You will keep the mind that is dependent on you
in perfect peace,(B)
for it is trusting in you.
4 Trust in the Lord forever,
because in the Lord, the Lord himself, is an everlasting rock!(C)
5 For he has humbled those who live in lofty places—
an inaccessible city.(D)
He brings it down; he brings it down to the ground;
he throws it to the dust.
6 Feet trample it,
the feet of the humble,
the steps of the poor.
God’s People Vindicated
7 The path of the righteous is level;(E)
you clear a straight path for the righteous.
8 Yes, Lord, we wait for you
in the path of your judgments.
Our desire is for your name and renown.(F)
9 I long for you in the night;(G)
yes, my spirit within me diligently seeks you,
for when your judgments are in the land,
the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.
Nahum 1:15
Christian Standard Bible
15 Look to the mountains—
the feet of the herald,(A)
who proclaims peace.
Celebrate your festivals, Judah;
fulfill your vows.
For the wicked one will never again
march through you;
he will be entirely wiped out.
John 16:31-33
Christian Standard Bible
31 Jesus responded to them, “Do you now believe? 32 Indeed, an hour is coming, and has come,(A) when each of you will be scattered to his own home, and you will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.(B) 33 I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.”

Israel’s Rejection of the Message
14 How, then, can they call on him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about him?(A) And how can they hear without a preacher?(B) 15 And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful[a] are the feet of those who bring good news.[b](C) 16 But not all obeyed the gospel.(D) For Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed our message?[c](E) 17 So faith comes from what is heard,(F) and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.[d](G)
