Isaiah 50:4-9

⁴The Lord God has given ^(A)me
    the tongue of those who are taught,
that ^(B)I may know how to sustain with a word
    ^(C)him who is weary.
Morning by morning he awakens;
    he awakens my ear
    to hear as those who are taught.
⁵^(D)The Lord God has opened my ear,
    ^(E)and I was not rebellious;
    I turned not backward.
⁶^(F)I gave my back to those who strike,
    and my cheeks to those who pull out the beard;
I hid not my face
    from disgrace and spitting.

⁷But the Lord God helps me;
    therefore I have not been disgraced;
^(G)therefore I have set my face like a flint,
    and I know that I shall not be put to shame.
⁸    ^(H)He who vindicates me is near.
Who will contend with me?
    Let us stand up together.
Who is my adversary?
    Let him come near to me.
⁹^(I)Behold, the Lord God helps me;
    who will declare me guilty?
Behold, all of them will wear out like a garment;
    the moth will eat them up.

Philippians 2:5-11

⁵^(A)Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,^[a] ⁶^(B)who, though he was in ^(C)the form of God, did not count equality with God ^(D)a thing to be grasped,^[b] ⁷but ^(E)emptied himself, by taking the form of a ^(F)servant,^[c] ^(G)being born in the likeness of men. ⁸And being found in human form, he humbled himself by ^(H)becoming obedient to the point of death, ^(I)even death on a cross. ⁹^(J)Therefore ^(K)God has ^(L)highly exalted him and bestowed on him ^(M)the name that is above every name, ¹⁰so that at the name of Jesus ^(N)every knee should bow, ^(O)in heaven and on earth and under the earth, ¹¹and ^(P)every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is ^(Q)Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The Triumphal Entry

¹²The next day ^(A)the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. ¹³So they took branches of ^(B)palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, ^(C)“Hosanna! Blessed is ^(D)he who comes in the name of the Lord, even ^(E)the King of Israel!” ¹⁴And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written,

¹⁵^(F)“Fear not, daughter of Zion;
behold, your king is coming,
sitting on a donkey's colt!”

¹⁶^(G)His disciples did not understand these things at first, but ^(H)when Jesus was glorified, then ^(I)they remembered that these things had been written about him and had been done to him. ¹⁷^(J)The crowd that had been with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to bear witness. ¹⁸The reason why the crowd went to meet him ^(K)was that they heard he had done this sign. ¹⁹So the Pharisees said to one another, ^(L)“You see that you are gaining nothing. Look, ^(M)the world has gone after him.”

Some Greeks Seek Jesus

²⁰Now ^(N)among those who went up to worship at the feast were some ^(O)Greeks. ²¹So these came to ^(P)Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and asked him, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus.” ²²Philip went and told ^(Q)Andrew; Andrew and Philip went and told Jesus. ²³And Jesus answered them, ^(R)“The hour has come ^(S)for the Son of Man to be glorified. ²⁴Truly, truly, I say to you, ^(T)unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. ²⁵^(U)Whoever loves his life loses it, and ^(V)whoever ^(W)hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. ²⁶If anyone serves me, he must ^(X)follow me; and ^(Y)where I am, there will my servant be also. ^(Z)If anyone serves me, ^(AA)the Father will honor him.

The Son of Man Must Be Lifted Up

²⁷^(AB)“Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, ^(AC)save me from ^(AD)this hour’? But ^(AE)for this purpose I have come to ^(AF)this hour. ²⁸Father, glorify your name.” Then ^(AG)a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.” ²⁹The crowd that stood there and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, ^(AH)“An angel has spoken to him.”
