On that day seven women
will seize one man,(A) saying,
“We will eat our own bread
and provide our own clothing.
Just let us bear your name.
Take away our disgrace.”(B)

Zion’s Future Glory

On that day the Branch[a] of the Lord will be beautiful and glorious,(C) and the fruit of the land(D) will be the pride and glory(E) of Israel’s survivors.(F) Whoever remains in Zion and whoever is left in Jerusalem(G) will be called holy(H)—all in Jerusalem written in the book of life[b](I) when the Lord has washed away the filth(J) of the daughters of Zion and cleansed the bloodguilt(K) from the heart of Jerusalem by a spirit of judgment(L) and a spirit of burning.(M) Then the Lord will create(N) a cloud of smoke by day(O) and a glowing flame of fire by night over the entire site of Mount Zion and over its assemblies. For there will be a canopy over all the glory,[c] and there will be a shelter for shade from heat by day and a refuge and shelter from storm and rain.(P)

In that day(A) seven women

and say, “We will eat our own food(C)
    and provide our own clothes;
only let us be called by your name.
    Take away our disgrace!”(D)

The Branch of the Lord

In that day(E) the Branch of the Lord(F) will be beautiful(G) and glorious, and the fruit(H) of the land will be the pride and glory(I) of the survivors(J) in Israel. Those who are left in Zion,(K) who remain(L) in Jerusalem, will be called holy,(M) all who are recorded(N) among the living in Jerusalem. The Lord will wash away the filth(O) of the women of Zion;(P) he will cleanse(Q) the bloodstains(R) from Jerusalem by a spirit[a] of judgment(S) and a spirit[b] of fire.(T) Then the Lord will create(U) over all of Mount Zion(V) and over those who assemble there a cloud of smoke by day and a glow of flaming fire by night;(W) over everything the glory[c](X) will be a canopy.(Y) It will be a shelter(Z) and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge(AA) and hiding place from the storm(AB) and rain.

The Branch of the Lord Glorified

In that day (E)the branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious, and (F)the fruit of the land shall be the pride and honor of the survivors of Israel. (G)And he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called (H)holy, everyone who has (I)been recorded for life in Jerusalem, when (J)the Lord shall have washed away the filth of (K)the daughters of Zion and cleansed the bloodstains of Jerusalem from its midst by a spirit of judgment and by (L)a spirit of burning.[a] Then the Lord will create over the whole site of Mount Zion and over her assemblies (M)a cloud by day, and smoke and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory there will be (N)a canopy. (O)There will be a (P)booth for shade by day from the heat, and (Q)for a refuge and a shelter from the storm and rain.

Le salut des survivants d’Israël

En ce jour-là, ce que fera germer l’Eternel sera splendide et glorieux et le fruit du pays sera un magnifique sujet de fierté pour les survivants d’Israël. Alors ceux qui subsisteront, ceux qui resteront à Sion seront appelés saints, tous ceux qui, à Jérusalem, seront inscrits afin d’avoir la vie. Quand l’Eternel aura lavé la souillure des filles de Sion et purifié Jérusalem du sang qu’on y a répandu, par le souffle du jugement, par le souffle de l’incendie, l’Eternel va créer sur toute l’étendue du mont Sion et sur tous ceux qui s’y assembleront, une nuée le jour, et la nuit la fumée et l’éclat de flammes de feu[a]. Et au-dessus de toutes choses sa gloire sera comme un dais et comme une cabane[b] donnant de l’ombre pendant le jour pour protéger de la chaleur et servant de refuge, d’abri contre l’orage, contre la pluie.
