Be still, ye inhabitants of the isle; thou whom the merchants of Zidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished.

And by great waters the seed of Sihor, the harvest of the river, is her revenue; and she is a mart of nations.

Be thou ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea hath spoken, even the strength of the sea, saying, I travail not, nor bring forth children, neither do I nourish up young men, nor bring up virgins.

Tig, ni invånare i kustländerna
    och köpmän från Sidon,
som gjort sig så rika på sjöfarten.
    Över vattnen kom säd från Shichor
och från skördar vid Nilen

    ”Jag har inte haft någon födslovånda,
inte fött barn,
    inte fött upp ynglingar
eller fostrat flickor.”

You merchants of Sidon,
[a]Whom those who cross the sea have filled.
And on great waters the grain of Shihor,
The harvest of [b]the River, is her revenue;
And (A)she is a marketplace for the nations.

Be ashamed, O Sidon;
For the sea has spoken,
The strength of the sea, saying,
“I do not labor, nor bring forth children;
Neither do I rear young men,
Nor bring up virgins.”

Да! Ти, когото сидонските търговци,

(A)Доходът му, идещ през големи води,
беше житото на Нил, жътвата на реката,
така че той беше тържище на народите.
Засрами се, Сидоне, защото морето проговори;
морската крепост каза:
Не съм в болки, нито раждам,
нито момци отхранвам, нито девици отглеждам.
