He will judge(A) between the nations
and will settle disputes(B) for many peoples.

    the descendants of Jacob.(H)
They are full of superstitions from the East;
they practice divination(I) like the Philistines(J)
    and embrace(K) pagan customs.(L)
Their land is full of silver and gold;(M)
there is no end to their treasures.(N)
Their land is full of horses;(O)
there is no end to their chariots.(P)
Their land is full of idols;(Q)
they bow down(R) to the work of their hands,(S)
to what their fingers(T) have made.
So people will be brought low(U)
    and everyone humbled(V)
    do not forgive them.[a](W)

10 Go into the rocks, hide(X) in the ground
from the fearful presence of the Lord
and the splendor of his majesty!(Y)
11 The eyes of the arrogant(Z) will be humbled(AA)
    and human pride(AB) brought low;(AC)
the Lord alone will be exalted(AD) in that day.(AE)

12 The Lord Almighty has a day(AF) in store
for all the proud(AG) and lofty,(AH)
for all that is exalted(AI)
    (and they will be humbled),(AJ)
