Proclamation Against Moab
15 The (A)burden[a] against Moab.
Because in the night (B)Ar of (C)Moab is laid waste
And destroyed,
Because in the night Kir of Moab is laid waste
And destroyed,
2 He has gone up to the [b]temple and Dibon,
To the high places to weep.
Moab will wail over Nebo and over Medeba;
(D)On all their heads will be baldness,
And every beard cut off.
3 In their streets they will clothe themselves with sackcloth;
On the tops of their houses
And in their streets
Everyone will wail, (E)weeping bitterly.
4 Heshbon and Elealeh will cry out,
Their voice shall be heard as far as (F)Jahaz;
Therefore the [c]armed soldiers of Moab will cry out;
His life will be burdensome to him.
5 “My(G) heart will cry out for Moab;
His fugitives shall flee to Zoar,
Like [d]a three-year-old heifer.
For (H)by the Ascent of Luhith
They will go up with weeping;
For in the way of Horonaim
They will raise up a cry of destruction,
6 For the waters (I)of Nimrim will be desolate,
For the green grass has withered away;
The grass fails, there is nothing green.
7 Therefore the abundance they have gained,
And what they have laid up,
They will carry away to the Brook of the Willows.
8 For the cry has gone all around the borders of Moab,
Its wailing to Eglaim
And its wailing to Beer Elim.
9 For the waters of [e]Dimon will be full of blood;
Because I will bring more upon Dimon,
(J)Lions upon him who escapes from Moab,
And on the remnant of the land.”

15 (A)Oráculo[a] sobre[b] Moab(B):
«Ciertamente en una noche Ar de Moab fue devastada y destruida(C),
Ciertamente en una noche Kir de Moab fue devastada y destruida.
2 -»Han subido al templo[c] y a Dibón(D), a los lugares altos a llorar.
Sobre Nebo y sobre Medeba gime Moab;
En todas sus cabezas, calvicie; toda barba, rasurada(E).
3 -»En sus calles se han ceñido de cilicio(F).
En sus terrados y en sus plazas(G)
Todos gimen, deshechos en lágrimas[d](H).
4 -»También claman Hesbón y Eleale,
Se oye su voz hasta Jahaza(I).
Por tanto, gritarán los hombres armados[e] de Moab,
Su alma tiembla dentro de ella.
5 -»Mi corazón clama por Moab.
Sus fugitivos huyen hasta Zoar(J) y Eglat Selisiya,
Y[f] suben la cuesta de Luhit llorando(K).
Ciertamente en el camino a Horonaim dan gritos de angustia por su ruina(L).

15 Ang mensaheng itoʼy tungkol sa Moab:
Sa loob lang ng isang gabi ay nawasak ang lungsod ng Ar at Kir na sakop ng Moab. 2 Umahon ang mga taga-Dibon sa kanilang templo at sa kanilang mga sambahan sa matataas na lugar para umiyak. Iniiyakan ng mga taga-Moab ang Nebo at Medeba. Ang bawat isa sa kanilaʼy nagpakalbo at nagpaahit ng mga balbas upang ipakita ang kanilang kalungkutan. 3 Nakadamit sila ng sako[a] habang lumalakad sa lansangan. Humahagulgol sila sa bubong ng kanilang mga bahay at sa mga plasa. 4 Umiiyak ang mga taga-Heshbon at ang mga taga-Eleale at naririnig ito hanggang sa Jahaz. Kaya ang mga sundalo ng Moab ay sumisigaw sa takot. 5 Nalungkot ako dahil sa nangyari sa Moab. Nagsitakas ang kanyang mga mamamayan papuntang Zoar hanggang sa Eglat Shelishiya. At wala nang sariwang mga tanim, 7 kaya dinala nila sa kabila ng daluyan ng tubig ng Arabim ang mga ari-arian at kayamanang natipon nila. 8 Ang iyakan nila ay maririnig sa hangganan ng Moab, mula sa Eglaim hanggang sa Beer Elim. 9 Naging pula sa dugo ang tubig ng Dibon,[b] pero higit pa riyan ang gagawin ko: Magpapadala ako ng mga leon na lalapa sa mga nagsisitakas sa Moab at sa mga naiwan doon.

Kir in Moab is devastated,
destroyed in a night.
2 Dibon went up to its temple
to weep at its high places.
Moab wails on Nebo and at[a] Medeba.
Every head is shaved;
every beard is cut off.
3 In its streets they wear sackcloth;
on its rooftops and in its public squares everyone wails,
falling down and weeping.
4 Heshbon and Elealeh cry out;
their voices are heard as far away as Jahaz.(C)
Therefore the soldiers of Moab cry out,
and they tremble.[b]
5 My heart cries out over Moab,
whose fugitives flee as far as Zoar,(D)
to Eglath-shelishiyah;
they go up the slope of Luhith weeping;
they raise a cry of destruction
on the road to Horonaim.
6 The waters of Nimrim(E) are desolate;
the grass is withered, the foliage is gone,
and the vegetation has vanished.
7 So they carry their wealth and belongings
over the Wadi of the Willows.(F)
8 For their cry echoes
throughout the territory of Moab.
Their wailing reaches Eglaim;
their wailing reaches Beer-elim.
9 The waters of Dibon[c] are full of blood,(G)
but I will bring on Dibon[d] even more than this—
a lion for those who escape from Moab,
and for the survivors in the land.(H)

on the roofs(N) and in the public squares(O)
they all wail,(P)
prostrate with weeping.(Q)
4 Heshbon(R) and Elealeh(S) cry out,
their voices are heard all the way to Jahaz.(T)
Therefore the armed men of Moab cry out,
and their hearts are faint.
5 My heart cries out(U) over Moab;(V)
her fugitives(W) flee as far as Zoar,(X)
as far as Eglath Shelishiyah.
They go up the hill to Luhith,
weeping as they go;
on the road to Horonaim(Y)
they lament their destruction.(Z)
6 The waters of Nimrim are dried up(AA)
and the grass is withered;(AB)
the vegetation is gone(AC)
and nothing green is left.(AD)
7 So the wealth they have acquired(AE) and stored up
they carry away over the Ravine of the Poplars.
8 Their outcry echoes along the border of Moab;
their wailing reaches as far as Eglaim,
their lamentation as far as Beer(AF) Elim.
9 The waters of Dimon[a] are full of blood,
but I will bring still more upon Dimon[b]—
a lion(AG) upon the fugitives of Moab(AH)
and upon those who remain in the land.
