²³ I saw on the earth, and behold, it was ^[a](A)formless and void;
And to the heavens, and they had no light.
²⁴ I saw on the mountains, and behold, they were ^(B)quaking,
And all the hills ^[b]moved to and fro.
²⁵ I saw, and behold, there was no man,
And all the ^(C)birds of the sky had fled.
²⁶ I saw, and behold, ^[c]the ^(D)fruitful orchard was a wilderness,
And all its cities were torn down
Before Yahweh, before His burning anger.

¹⁰ Before them the earth ^(A)trembles;
The heavens quake;
The ^(B)sun and the moon grow dark,
And the stars ^[a]lose their brightness.
