⁶ Behold, it is written before Me:
I will ^(A)not keep silent, but ^(B)I will repay;
I will even repay into their bosom,
⁷ Both ^[a]their own ^(C)iniquities and the iniquities of their fathers together,” says Yahweh.
“Because they have ^(D)burned incense on the mountains
And ^(E)reproached Me on the hills,
Therefore I will ^(F)measure their former work into their bosom.”

¹⁴ All your ^(A)lovers have forgotten you;
They do not seek you;
For I have ^[a](B)wounded you with the wound of an enemy,
With the ^(C)punishment of a ^(D)cruel one,
Because your ^(E)iniquity is numerous
And your ^(F)sins are mighty.
¹⁵ Why do you cry out over your injury?
Your pain is incurable.
Because your iniquity is numerous
And your sins are mighty,
I have done these things to you.

³⁹ Why should any living ^[a]person or any man
^(A)Complain because of his sins?
