²³ “Then I will ^(A)establish over them one ^(B)shepherd, My servant ^(C)David, and he will shepherd them; he will shepherd them himself and be their shepherd. ²⁴ And I, Yahweh, will be their God, and My servant ^(D)David will be prince among them; I, Yahweh, have spoken.

Yahweh Cuts a Covenant

²⁴ “And My servant ^(A)David will be king over them, and they will all have ^(B)one shepherd; and they will walk in My judgments and keep My statutes and do them. ²⁵ They will inhabit the land that I gave to Jacob My servant, which your fathers inhabited; and they will inhabit it, they, and their sons and their sons’ sons, forever; and ^(C)David My servant will be their prince forever.

⁵ Afterward the sons of Israel will ^(A)return and seek Yahweh their God and ^(B)David their king; and ^(C)they will come ^[a]in dread to Yahweh and to His goodness in the last days.

³⁰ And so, because he was ^(A)a prophet and knew that ^(B)God had sworn to him with an oath to set one of the fruit ^[a]of his body on his throne,

^23 (A)From the seed of this man, ^(B)according to promise, God has brought to Israel ^(C)a Savior, Jesus,

³⁴ But that He ^(A)raised Him up from the dead, no longer to return to corruption, He has spoken in this way: ‘^(B)I will give you the holy and ^[a]faithful lovingkindnesses of David.’
