18 (A)Do not remember the former things,
Nor carefully consider things of the past.
19 Behold, I will do something (B)new;
Now it will spring forth;
Will you not know it?
I will even (C)make a roadway in the wilderness,
Rivers in the wasteland.
20 The beasts of the field will glorify Me,
The (D)jackals and the ostriches,
Because I have (E)given waters in the wilderness
And rivers in the wasteland,
To give drink to My chosen people.
21 The people whom (F)I formed for Myself
(G)Will recount My praise.

22 “Yet you have not called on Me, O Jacob;
But you have become (H)weary of Me, O Israel.
23 You have (I)not brought to Me the sheep of your burnt offerings,
Nor have you (J)glorified Me with your sacrifices.
I have not (K)burdened you with [a]offerings,
Nor wearied you with (L)frankincense.
24 You have not bought Me [b](M)sweet cane with money,
Nor have you satisfied Me with the fat of your sacrifices;
Rather you have burdened Me with your sins;
You have (N)wearied Me with your iniquities.

25 “I, even I, am the one who (O)wipes out your transgressions (P)for My own sake,
And I will (Q)not remember your sins.
26 [c]Bring Me to remembrance, (R)let us enter into judgment together;
Recount your cause, (S)that you may be proved right.
27 Your (T)first father sinned,
And your [d](U)spokesmen have [e]transgressed against Me.
28 So I will [f]profane the [g]princes of the sanctuary,
And I will give Jacob to be (V)devoted to destruction and Israel to (W)revilement.

and He will (A)wipe away every tear from their eyes; and (B)there will no longer be any death; (C)there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain. (D)The first things passed away.”

And (E)He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am (F)making all things new.” And He *said, “Write, for (G)these words are faithful and true.” Then He said to me, “(H)They are done. I am the (I)Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. (J)I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the (K)water of life without cost. (L)He who overcomes will inherit these things, and (M)I will be his God and he will be My son. (N)But for the cowardly and [a]unbelieving and abominable and murderers and sexually immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in (O)the lake that burns with fire and [b]brimstone, which is the (P)second death.”

(Q)Then one of the seven angels who have the (R)seven bowls [c]full of the (S)seven last plagues came and spoke with me, saying, “(T)Come here, I will show you the (U)bride, the wife of the Lamb.”

New Jerusalem, the Holy City

10 And (V)he carried me away [d](W)in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me (X)the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, 11 having (Y)the glory of God. Her [e]brilliance was like precious stone, as a (Z)stone of (AA)crystal-clear jasper. 12 [f]It had a great and high wall. [g]It had (AB)twelve (AC)gates and at those gates, twelve angels; and names [h]have been written on those gates, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. 13 There were three gates on the east and three gates on the north and three gates on the south and three gates on the west. 14 And the wall of the city had (AD)twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the (AE)twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15 And the one who spoke with me had a [i]gold measuring (AF)rod to measure the city and its (AG)gates and its wall. 16 And the city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width; and he measured the city with the [j]rod, [k]12,000 stadia; its length and width and height are equal. 17 And he measured its wall, [l]144 cubits, according to (AH)human [m]measurements, which are also (AI)angelic measurements. 18 And the material of the wall was (AJ)jasper, and the city was (AK)pure gold, like pure (AL)glass. 19 (AM)The foundation stones of the city wall were adorned with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation stone was (AN)jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, (AO)emerald; 20 the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, (AP)sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. 21 And the twelve (AQ)gates were twelve (AR)pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was (AS)pure gold, like transparent (AT)glass.

22 And I saw (AU)no sanctuary in it, for the (AV)Lord God the Almighty and the (AW)Lamb are its sanctuary. 23 And the city (AX)has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for (AY)the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the (AZ)Lamb. 24 (BA)And the nations will walk by its light, and the (BB)kings of the earth [n]will bring their glory into it. 25 (BC)And its gates (BD)will never be closed by day, for (BE)there will be no night there; 26 and (BF)they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. 27 And (BG)nothing defiled, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those [o]whose names are (BH)written in the Lamb’s book of life.
