⁶ Behold, you trust in the ^(A)staff of this crushed reed, even on Egypt, on which if a man leans, it will go into his ^[a]hand and pierce it. ^(B)So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust in him.

⁵ Meanwhile, ^(A)Pharaoh’s military force had come out from Egypt; and the Chaldeans who had been besieging Jerusalem heard the report about them. So they ^(B)withdrew from Jerusalem.

⁷ “Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘^(A)Thus you are to say to the king of Judah, who sent you to Me to inquire of Me: “Behold, ^(B)the military force of Pharaoh which has come out for your assistance is going to return to its own land of Egypt.
