¹⁴ The Lord ^(A)enters into judgment with the elders and princes of His people,
“It is you who have ^(B)devoured the vineyard;
The ^(C)plunder of the poor is in your houses.
¹⁵ “What do you mean by ^(D)crushing My people
And grinding the face of the poor?”
Declares the Lord ^[a]God of hosts.

⁴ But with ^(A)righteousness He will judge the ^(B)poor,
And decide with fairness for the ^(C)afflicted of the earth;
And He will strike the earth with the ^(D)rod of His mouth,
And with the ^(E)breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.

³⁰ “^[a]Those who are most ^(A)helpless will eat,
And the needy will lie down in security;
I will ^[b]destroy your root with ^(B)famine,
And it will kill off your survivors.

³² “How then will one answer the ^(A)messengers of the nation?
That ^(B)the Lord has founded Zion,
And ^(C)the afflicted of His people will seek refuge in it.”

⁴ For You have been a ^(A)defense for the helpless,
A defense for the needy in his distress,
A ^(B)refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat;
For the breath of the ^(C)ruthless
Is like a rain storm against a wall.

⁶ “^(A)The foot will trample it,
The feet of the ^(B)afflicted, the steps of the helpless.”
