¹⁸ On that day the ^(A)deaf will hear ^(B)words of a book,
And out of ^[a]darkness and thick darkness the ^(C)eyes of the blind will see.

³ Then ^(A)the eyes of those who see will not be ^[a]blinded,
And the ears of those who hear will pay attention.

⁸ Behold, I am ^(A)bringing them from the north country,
And I will ^(B)gather them from the remote parts of the earth,
Among them the ^(C)blind and the ^(D)lame,
The woman with child and she who is in labor with child, together;
A great assembly, they will return here.
^9 (E)With weeping they will come,
And by supplication I will lead them;
I will make them walk by ^(F)streams of waters,
On a straight path in which they will ^(G)not stumble;
For I am a ^(H)father to Israel,
And Ephraim is ^(I)My firstborn.”

⁷⁸ Because of the tender mercy of our God,
With which ^(A)the Sunrise from on high will visit us,
^79 (B)To shine upon those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death,
To direct our feet into the ^(C)way of peace.”
