Weeds and thistles in its fortified cities;

And an abode of ostriches.
14 And the desert (K)creatures will meet with the [d]wolves;
The [e](L)hairy goat also will cry to its kind;
Surely, the [f]night creature will obtain relief there
And will find itself a resting place.
15 The [g]owl will make its nest and find its escape there,
And it will hatch its eggs and gather them in its shade.
Surely, (M)the [h]falcons will be gathered there,
Every one with its kind.

15 The owl will nest there and lay eggs,
    she will hatch them, and care for her young

How Babylon has become an object of horror among the nations!

She has been covered with its tumultuous waves.
43 Her cities have become an (J)object of horror,
A parched land, and a desert,
A land in which (K)no man lives
And through which no son of man passes.
