A Remnant Will Return

20 Now it will be in that day, that the (A)remnant of Israel and those of the house of Jacob (B)who have escaped, will never again rely on the one who struck them, but will truly (C)rely on Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel.

21 A (D)remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the (E)mighty God.
22 For (F)though your people, O Israel, may be like the sand of the sea,
Only a remnant within them will return;
A (G)destructive end is decreed, overflowing with righteousness.

23 For a complete destruction, one that is decreed, (H)Lord Yahweh of hosts will do in the midst of the whole land.

A Remnant of Israel Will Return

20 It will come about in that day that those who remain from Israel and those from the house of Jacob who have survived will never again lean on the one who struck them, but they will truly lean on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel. 21 A remnant will return to the mighty God, namely, the remnant of Jacob.

22 Although your people, Israel, are like the sand of the sea, only a remnant will return. Complete destruction has been decreed—overwhelming, but righteous. 23 For the Lord, the Lord of Armies, will bring about the destruction decreed for the whole earth.

The Remnant of Israel

20 In that day(A) the remnant of Israel,
    the survivors(B) of Jacob,
will no longer rely(C) on him
    who struck them down(D)
but will truly rely(E) on the Lord,
    the Holy One of Israel.(F)
21 A remnant(G) will return,[a](H) a remnant of Jacob
    will return to the Mighty God.(I)
22 Though your people be like the sand(J) by the sea, Israel,
    only a remnant will return.(K)
Destruction has been decreed,(L)
    overwhelming and righteous.
23 The Lord, the Lord Almighty, will carry out
    the destruction decreed(M) upon the whole land.(N)
