Righteous Reign of the Branch

11 Then a (A)shoot will spring from the (B)stem of Jesse,
And a (C)Branch from (D)his roots will bear fruit.
The (E)Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him,
The spirit of (F)wisdom and understanding,
The spirit of counsel and (G)strength,
The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
And He will delight in the fear of the Lord,
And He will not judge by what His eyes (H)see,
Nor make decisions by what His ears hear;
But with (I)righteousness He will judge the (J)poor,
And decide with fairness for the (K)humble of the earth;
And He will strike the earth with the (L)rod of His mouth,
And with the (M)breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.
Also (N)righteousness will be the belt around His hips,
And (O)faithfulness the belt around His waist.

And the (P)wolf will dwell with the lamb,
And the leopard will lie down with the young goat,
And the calf and the young lion [a]and the fattened steer will be together;
And a little boy will lead them.
Also the cow and the bear will graze,
Their young will lie down together,
And the (Q)lion will eat straw like the ox.
The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra,
And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.
They will (R)not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain,
For the (S)earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord
As the waters cover the sea.

10 Then on that day
The (T)nations will resort to the (U)root of Jesse,
Who will stand as a (V)signal flag for the peoples;
And His (W)resting place will be [b]glorious.

Zion’s Happy Future

35 The (A)wilderness and the desert will rejoice,
And the [a](B)desert will shout for joy and blossom;
Like the crocus
It will (C)blossom profusely
And (D)rejoice with joy and jubilation.
The (E)glory of Lebanon will be given to it,
The majesty of (F)Carmel and Sharon.
They will see the (G)glory of the Lord,
The majesty of our God.
(H)Strengthen the [b]exhausted, and make the [c]feeble strong.
Say to those with (I)anxious heart,
“Take courage, fear not.
Behold, your God will come with (J)vengeance;
The (K)retribution of God will come,
But He will (L)save you.”
Then the (M)eyes of those who are blind will be opened,
And the ears of those who are deaf will be unstopped.
Then those who (N)limp will leap like a deer,
And the (O)tongue of those who cannot speak will shout for joy.
For waters will burst forth in the (P)wilderness,
And streams in the [d]desert.
The [e]scorched land will become a pool
And the thirsty ground (Q)springs of water;
In the (R)haunt of jackals, its resting place,
Grass becomes reeds and rushes.
(S)A highway will be there, (T)a roadway,
And it will be called the Highway of (U)Holiness.
The unclean will not travel on it,
But it will be for the one who walks that way,
And (V)fools will not wander on it.
No (W)lion will be there,
Nor will any vicious animal go up on it;
[f]They will not be found there.
But (X)the redeemed will walk there,
10 And (Y)the redeemed of the Lord will return
And come to Zion with joyful shouting,
And everlasting joy will be on their heads.
They will obtain gladness and joy,
And (Z)sorrow and sighing will flee away.

“Behold, the (A)days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“When I will raise up for David a righteous [a](B)Branch;
And He will (C)reign as king and [b]act wisely
And (D)do justice and righteousness in the land.
In His days Judah will be saved,
And (E)Israel will live securely;
And this is His (F)name by which He will be called,
‘The (G)Lord Our Righteousness.’

(H)Therefore behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when they will no longer say, ‘As the Lord lives, who brought the sons of Israel up from the land of Egypt,’ (I)but, ‘As the Lord lives, who (J)brought up and led the descendants of the household of Israel back from the north land and from all the countries where I had driven them.’ Then they will live on their own soil.”

17 Then you will (A)know that I am the Lord your God,
Dwelling on Zion, My (B)holy mountain.
So Jerusalem will be (C)holy,
And (D)strangers will no longer pass through it.

Judah Will Be Blessed

18 And on that day
The (E)mountains will drip with [a]sweet wine,
And the hills will (F)flow with milk,
And all the (G)brooks of Judah will flow with water;
And a (H)spring will go out from the house of the Lord
And water the Valley of [b]Shittim.
19 Egypt will become a wasteland,
And Edom will become a desolate wilderness,
Because of the (I)violence [c]done to the sons of Judah,
In whose land they have shed innocent blood.
20 But Judah will be (J)inhabited forever,
And Jerusalem for all generations.
21 And I will (K)avenge their blood which I have not avenged,
For the Lord dwells in Zion.

God Will Be King over All

And the Lord will be (A)King over all the earth; on that day the Lord will be the only (B)one, and His name the only one.

10 All the land will change into a plain from (C)Geba to (D)Rimmon south of Jerusalem; but [a]Jerusalem will (E)rise and (F)remain on its site from (G)Benjamin’s Gate as far as the place of the First Gate to the (H)Corner Gate, and from the (I)Tower of Hananel to the king’s wine presses. 11 People will live in it, and there will (J)no longer be a curse, for Jerusalem will (K)live in security.

12 Now this will be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the peoples who have gone to war against Jerusalem; their flesh will (L)rot while they stand on their feet, and their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongue will rot in their mouth. 13 And it will come about on that day that a great panic from the Lord will [b]fall on them; and they will (M)seize one another’s hand, and the hand of one will [c]be raised against the hand of another. 14 (N)Judah also will fight at Jerusalem; and the (O)wealth of all the surrounding nations will be gathered, gold, silver, and garments in great abundance. 15 And just like this (P)plague, there will be a plague on the horse, the mule, the camel, the donkey, and all the cattle that will be in those camps.

16 Then it will come about that any who are left of all the nations that came against Jerusalem will (Q)go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of armies, and to celebrate the (R)Feast of Booths. 17 And it will be that whichever of the families of the earth does not go up to Jerusalem to worship the (S)King, the Lord of armies, there will be (T)no rain on them. 18 And if the family of Egypt does not go up or enter, then no rain will fall on them; it will be the (U)plague with which the Lord strikes the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Booths. 19 This will be the [d]punishment of Egypt, and the [e]punishment of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Booths.

20 On that day there will be inscribed on the bells of the horses, “(V)Holy to the Lord.” And the (W)cooking pots in the Lords house will be like the bowls before the altar. 21 Every cooking pot in Jerusalem and in Judah will be (X)holy to the Lord of armies; and all who sacrifice will come and take of them and boil in them. And there will no longer be a [f](Y)Canaanite in the house of the Lord of armies on that day.

Satan Bound

20 Then I saw (A)an angel coming down from heaven, holding the (B)key of the abyss and a great chain [a]in his hand. And he took hold of the (C)dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and (D)bound him for a thousand years; and he threw him into the (E)abyss and shut it and (F)sealed it over him, so that he would (G)not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time.

Then I saw (H)thrones, and (I)they sat on them, and (J)judgment was given to them. And I saw (K)the souls of those who had been beheaded because of [b]their (L)testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not (M)worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the (N)mark on their foreheads and on their hands; and they (O)came to life and (P)reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. (Q)This is the first resurrection. (R)Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the (S)second death has no power, but they will be (T)priests of God and of Christ, and will (U)reign with Him for a thousand years.

Satan Freed and Doomed

When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be (V)released from his prison,
