⁶ Their cobwebs are useless for clothing;
    they cannot cover themselves with what they make.^(A)
Their deeds are evil deeds,
    and acts of violence^(B) are in their hands.

³ Her officials within her
    are roaring lions;^(A)
her rulers are evening wolves,^(B)
    who leave nothing for the morning.^(C)
4 Her prophets are unprincipled;
    they are treacherous people.^(D)
Her priests profane the sanctuary
    and do violence to the law.^(E)

² How long,^(A) Lord, must I call for help,
    but you do not listen?^(B)
Or cry out to you, “Violence!”
    but you do not save?^(C)
3 Why do you make me look at injustice?
    Why do you tolerate^(D) wrongdoing?^(E)
Destruction and violence^(F) are before me;
    there is strife,^(G) and conflict abounds.
⁴ Therefore the law^(H) is paralyzed,
    and justice never prevails.
The wicked hem in the righteous,
    so that justice^(I) is perverted.^(J)
