⁹ Burst into songs of joy^(A) together,
    you ruins^(B) of Jerusalem,
for the Lord has comforted^(C) his people,
    he has redeemed Jerusalem.^(D)

⁴ “Lift up your eyes and look about you:
    All assemble^(D) and come to you;
your sons come from afar,^(E)
    and your daughters^(F) are carried on the hip.^(G)
5 Then you will look and be radiant,^(H)
    your heart will throb and swell with joy;^(I)
the wealth^(J) on the seas will be brought to you,
    to you the riches of the nations will come.
⁶ Herds of camels^(K) will cover your land,
    young camels of Midian^(L) and Ephah.^(M)
And all from Sheba^(N) will come,
    bearing gold and incense^(O)
    and proclaiming the praise^(P) of the Lord.
⁷ All Kedar’s^(Q) flocks will be gathered to you,
    the rams of Nebaioth will serve you;
they will be accepted as offerings^(R) on my altar,^(S)
    and I will adorn my glorious temple.^(T)

⁸ “Who are these^(U) that fly along like clouds,^(V)
    like doves to their nests?
⁹ Surely the islands^(W) look to me;
    in the lead are the ships of Tarshish,^[a](X)
bringing^(Y) your children from afar,
    with their silver and gold,^(Z)
to the honor^(AA) of the Lord your God,
    the Holy One^(AB) of Israel,
    for he has endowed you with splendor.^(AC)

¹⁰ “Foreigners^(AD) will rebuild your walls,
    and their kings^(AE) will serve you.
Though in anger I struck you,
    in favor^(AF) I will show you compassion.^(AG)
11 Your gates^(AH) will always stand open,
    they will never be shut, day or night,
so that people may bring you the wealth of the nations^(AI)—
    their kings^(AJ) led in triumphal procession.
¹² For the nation or kingdom that will not serve^(AK) you will perish;
    it will be utterly ruined.^(AL)

¹³ “The glory of Lebanon^(AM) will come to you,
    the juniper, the fir and the cypress together,^(AN)
to adorn my sanctuary;^(AO)
    and I will glorify the place for my feet.^(AP)

¹⁸ Lift up your eyes and look around;
    all your children gather^(A) and come to you.
As surely as I live,^(B)” declares the Lord,
    “you will wear^(C) them all as ornaments;
    you will put them on, like a bride.

¹⁹ “Though you were ruined and made desolate^(D)
    and your land laid waste,^(E)
now you will be too small for your people,^(F)
    and those who devoured^(G) you will be far away.

⁸ May he rule from sea to sea
    and from the River^[a](A) to the ends of the earth.^(B)
9 May the desert tribes bow before him
    and his enemies lick the dust.
¹⁰ May the kings of Tarshish^(C) and of distant shores^(D)
    bring tribute to him.
May the kings of Sheba^(E) and Seba
    present him gifts.^(F)
11 May all kings bow down^(G) to him
    and all nations serve^(H) him.

¹² See, they will come from afar^(A)—
    some from the north, some from the west,^(B)
    some from the region of Aswan.^[a]”
