^18 (A)He who flees at the sound of the terror
    shall fall into the pit,
and he who climbs out of the pit
    shall be caught in the snare.
For ^(B)the windows of heaven are opened,
    and ^(C)the foundations of the earth tremble.

^{19     (A)}as if a man fled from a lion,
    and a bear met him,
or went into the house and leaned his hand against the wall,
    and a serpent bit him.

² Therefore we will not fear ^(A)though the earth gives way,
    though the mountains be moved into ^(B)the heart of the sea,
³ though ^(C)its waters roar and foam,
    though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah

¹⁵ Then ^(A)the channels of the sea were seen,
    and the foundations of the world were laid bare
at your ^(B)rebuke, O Lord,
    at the blast of ^(C)the breath of your nostrils.

^24 (A)He will flee from an iron weapon;
    ^(B)a bronze arrow will strike ^(C)him through.

⁸ For he is cast into a net by his own feet,
    and he walks on its mesh.
^9 (A)A trap seizes him by the heel;
    a snare lays hold of him.
¹⁰ A rope is hidden for him in the ground,
    a trap for him in the path.
^11 (B)Terrors frighten him on every side,
    and chase him at his heels.
¹² His strength is famished,
    and calamity is ^(C)ready for his stumbling.
¹³ It consumes the parts of his skin;
    ^(D)the firstborn of death consumes his limbs.
¹⁴ He is torn from the tent in which he trusted
    and is brought to ^(E)the king of terrors.
¹⁵ In his tent dwells that which is none of his;
    ^(F)sulfur is scattered over his habitation.
¹⁶ His ^(G)roots dry up beneath,
    and his branches ^(H)wither above.
