⁸ “For I, the Lord, love justice;^(A)
    I hate robbery and wrongdoing.
In my faithfulness I will reward my people
    and make an everlasting covenant^(B) with them.

⁹ Their descendants^(A) will be known among the nations
    and their offspring among the peoples.
All who see them will acknowledge
    that they are a people the Lord has blessed.”^(B)

²² No longer will they build houses and others live in them,^(A)
    or plant and others eat.
For as the days of a tree,^(B)
    so will be the days^(C) of my people;
my chosen^(D) ones will long enjoy
    the work of their hands.

²³ They will not labor in vain,^(A)
    nor will they bear children doomed to misfortune;^(B)
for they will be a people blessed^(C) by the Lord,
    they and their descendants^(D) with them.
