Isaiah 37:10-12

10 “Say to Hezekiah king of Judah: Do not let the god you depend on deceive(A) you when he says, ‘Jerusalem will not be given into the hands of the king of Assyria.’(B) 11 Surely you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all the countries, destroying them completely. And will you be delivered?(C) 12 Did the gods of the nations that were destroyed by my predecessors(D) deliver them—the gods of Gozan, Harran,(E) Rezeph and the people of Eden(F) who were in Tel Assar?

10 “Tell King Hezekiah of Judah this: ‘Don’t let your God in whom you trust mislead you when he says, “Jerusalem will not be handed over to the king of Assyria.” 11 Certainly you have heard how the kings of Assyria have annihilated all lands.[a] Do you really think you will be rescued?[b] 12 Were the nations whom my predecessors[c] destroyed—the nations of Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the people of Eden in Telassar—rescued by their gods?[d]

My ancestors destroyed them, defeating the cities of Gozan, Haran, and Rezeph, and the people of Eden living in Tel Assar.

11 Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by destroying them utterly; and shalt thou be delivered?
12 Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed, as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which were in Telassar?
