¿Será Jerusalén exaltada?
(Mi 4:1-3)
2 Este es el mensaje que recibió Isaías hijo de Amoz acerca de Judá y Jerusalén:
2 En los últimos días, el monte del templo del SEÑOR
será la montaña más exaltada.
Se levantará sobre todos los montes,
y los rostros de la gente brillarán de alegría.[a]
3 Muchos pueblos vendrán aquí y dirán:
«Vamos al monte del SEÑOR,
al templo del Dios de Jacob,
para que él nos dé sus enseñanzas
y nosotros lo seguiremos».
Porque de Sion saldrá la enseñanza
y de Jerusalén el mensaje del SEÑOR.
4 Él será árbitro entre las naciones
y mediador entre los muchos pueblos.
Convertirán sus espadas en arados
y sus lanzas en hoces.
Ninguna nación levantará espada contra otra,
y ya nadie se preparará para la guerra.
5 Ven, familia de Jacob,
andemos en la luz del SEÑOR.
Sólo el SEÑOR será exaltado
6 De verdad tú has abandonado a tu pueblo,
la familia de Jacob,
porque ellos están llenos de adivinos del oriente
y de magos como los que hay entre los filisteos.
También hacen alianzas con extranjeros.
7 El oro y la plata abundan en el país
y los tesoros sin límite.
Hay gran cantidad de caballos
y los carros son incontables.
8 El país está lleno de ídolos,
se inclinan a adorar lo que ellos mismos han hecho con sus propias manos.
9 Los seres humanos se humillaron,
se rebajaron.
No los perdones.
10 Métanse entre las rocas,
cúbranse de tierra, escóndanse
de la presencia terrible del SEÑOR
y de su gloriosa majestad.
11 La mirada arrogante de la humanidad
y el orgullo humano serán humillados.
Ese día sólo el SEÑOR será exaltado.
12 El SEÑOR Todopoderoso tiene planeado un día de castigo
contra todos los orgullosos, los arrogantes
y contra todos los que se exaltan a sí mismos.
13 También contra todos los cedros del Líbano, altos y elevados;
contra todos los robles de Basán,
14 contra los montes altos,
contra las colinas elevadas,
15 contra las torres altas,
contra las murallas fortificadas,
16 contra todos los barcos de Tarsis
y contra todo barco hermoso.
17 La arrogancia del hombre
y el orgullo humano serán humillados.
Ese día sólo el SEÑOR será exaltado,
18 pero los ídolos desaparecerán por completo.
19 Váyanse a las cuevas de las rocas
y a los hoyos en la tierra,
lejos de la presencia terrible del SEÑOR
y de su gloriosa majestad.
Cuando se levanta,
hace temblar la tierra.
20 Será el momento en que la humanidad
tomará sus ídolos de plata y oro que hizo para adorar,
y los echará lejos,
a las ratas y a los murciélagos.
21 La humanidad se meterá en las cuevas de las rocas
y en los huecos de las peñas,
tratando de alejarse de la presencia terrible del SEÑOR
y de su gloriosa majestad.
Eso sucederá cuando él haga temblar la tierra.
22 Dejen de confiar en los seres humanos;
su vida es muy corta y no valen nada.

The Mountain of the Lord(A)
2 This is what Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem:(B)
2 In the last days(C)
the mountain(D) of the Lord’s temple will be established
as the highest of the mountains;(E)
it will be exalted(F) above the hills,
and all nations will stream to it.(G)
3 Many peoples(H) will come and say,
“Come, let us go(I) up to the mountain(J) of the Lord,
to the temple of the God of Jacob.
He will teach us his ways,
so that we may walk in his paths.”
The law(K) will go out from Zion,
the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.(L)
4 He will judge(M) between the nations
and will settle disputes(N) for many peoples.
They will beat their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning hooks.(O)
Nation will not take up sword against nation,(P)
nor will they train for war anymore.
The Day of the Lord
6 You, Lord, have abandoned(S) your people,
the descendants of Jacob.(T)
They are full of superstitions from the East;
they practice divination(U) like the Philistines(V)
and embrace(W) pagan customs.(X)
7 Their land is full of silver and gold;(Y)
there is no end to their treasures.(Z)
Their land is full of horses;(AA)
there is no end to their chariots.(AB)
8 Their land is full of idols;(AC)
they bow down(AD) to the work of their hands,(AE)
to what their fingers(AF) have made.
9 So people will be brought low(AG)
and everyone humbled(AH)—
do not forgive them.[a](AI)
10 Go into the rocks, hide(AJ) in the ground
from the fearful presence of the Lord
and the splendor of his majesty!(AK)
11 The eyes of the arrogant(AL) will be humbled(AM)
and human pride(AN) brought low;(AO)
the Lord alone will be exalted(AP) in that day.(AQ)
12 The Lord Almighty has a day(AR) in store
for all the proud(AS) and lofty,(AT)
for all that is exalted(AU)
(and they will be humbled),(AV)
13 for all the cedars of Lebanon,(AW) tall and lofty,(AX)
and all the oaks of Bashan,(AY)
14 for all the towering mountains
and all the high hills,(AZ)
15 for every lofty tower(BA)
and every fortified wall,(BB)
16 for every trading ship[b](BC)
and every stately vessel.
17 The arrogance of man will be brought low(BD)
and human pride humbled;(BE)
the Lord alone will be exalted in that day,(BF)
18 and the idols(BG) will totally disappear.(BH)
19 People will flee to caves(BI) in the rocks
and to holes in the ground(BJ)
from the fearful presence(BK) of the Lord
and the splendor of his majesty,(BL)
when he rises to shake the earth.(BM)
20 In that day(BN) people will throw away
to the moles and bats(BO)
their idols of silver and idols of gold,(BP)
which they made to worship.(BQ)
21 They will flee to caverns in the rocks(BR)
and to the overhanging crags
from the fearful presence of the Lord
and the splendor of his majesty,(BS)
when he rises(BT) to shake the earth.(BU)

El monte del Señor
2 Este es otro mensaje que dio el Señor a Isaías respecto de Judá y Jerusalén: 2 En los días finales Jerusalén y el templo del Señor se convertirán en la mayor atracción del mundo, y gente de muchas tierras acudirá a adorar al Señor.
3 «Vamos», dirán todos, «subamos al monte del Señor, al templo del Dios de Israel; allí nos enseñará él sus leyes, y las obedeceremos».
Porque en aquellos días el mundo será gobernado desde Jerusalén. 4 El Señor zanjará las disputas internacionales, todas las naciones transformarán las armas de guerra en herramientas de paz, por fin cesarán las guerras y terminará el adiestramiento militar. 5 ¡Vamos, oh Israel, caminemos en la luz del Señor y obedezcamos sus leyes!
El día del Señor
6 El Señor los ha rechazado porque dieron cabida a extranjeros del oriente que practican la magia y se comunican con los malos espíritus, como hacen los filisteos.
7 Israel posee grandes tesoros de oro y plata y gran cantidad de caballos y carros. 8 Además, su tierra está llena de ídolos. Son productos humanos y, sin embargo, los adoran. 9 Grandes y pequeños, todos se inclinan religiosamente ante ellos; por este pecado no los perdones.
10 Huyan a las cuevas de las rocas y ocúltense aterrorizados de su gloriosa majestad, 11 porque el día viene en que sus altivas miradas serán humilladas; sólo el Señor será exaltado.
12 En aquel día el Señor Todopoderoso marchará contra los orgullosos y altivos y los humillará hasta que estén postrados en el polvo.
13 Todos los altos cedros del Líbano y las poderosas encinas de Basán se van a humillar, 14 así como los altos montes y las colinas, 15 y todo muro y alta torre, 16 y todos los orgullosos navíos del océano y barcas de cabotaje. En aquel día todos serán quebrantados ante el Señor. 17 Toda la gloria de la humanidad se humillará; los orgullosos yacerán en el polvo, y sólo el Señor será exaltado. 18 Todos los ídolos serán abolidos y destruidos por completo.
19 Cuando el Señor se levante de su trono para sacudir la tierra, sus enemigos irán arrastrándose temerosos a los agujeros de las rocas y a las cuevas, huyendo de la gloria de su majestad. 20 Por fin abandonarán sus ídolos de oro y plata a los topos y a los murciélagos, 21 y se arrastrarán a las cavernas para ocultarse entre ásperas rocas en lo alto de los riscos, tratando de escapar del espanto que el Señor provoca y de la gloria de su majestad cuando él se alce para castigar la tierra. 22 ¡Mezquino es el ser humano! ¡Frágil como su aliento! ¡Jamás confíen en él!

A Message for Judah and Jerusalem
2 The message that Amoz’s son Isaiah received[a] concerning Judah and Jerusalem:
2 “It will come about in the last days
that the mountain that is the Lord’s Temple will be established
as the highest of mountains,[b]
and will be raised above the hills;
all the nations will stream to[c] it.
3 Many groups of people[d] will come, commenting,
“Come! Let’s go up to[e] the Temple of the God of Jacob,
that they[f] may teach us his ways.
Then let’s walk in his paths.”
The Rule of God from Jerusalem
“Instruction[g] will proceed from Zion,
and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
4 He will judge between the nations,
and will render verdicts[h] for the benefit of many.[i]
“They will beat their swords into plowshares,
and their spears into pruning hooks;
nations will not raise swords against nations,
and they will not learn warfare anymore.
5 “You house of Jacob!
Come! Let’s live[j] in the Lord’s light.
6 For you have rejected your people,
the house of Jacob,
because they are filled with practices learned[k] from the East
and they are fortune-tellers like the Philistines.
They cut deals[l] with foreigners.[m]
7 Their land is filled with silver and gold,
and there is no end to their treasures;
their land is filled with horses,
and there is no end to their chariots.
8 Their land is filled with idols;
they bow down to the work of their hands,
to what their own fingers have made.
The Coming Day of the Lord
10 [p] “Go into the rocks!
Hide in the dust
to escape[q] the terror of the Lord
and to escape[r] the glory of his majesty![s]
11 The[t] haughty looks of mankind will be brought low,[u]
the lofty pride of human beings will be humbled,
and the Lord alone will be exalted at that time.[v]
12 “For the Lord of the Heavenly Armies has reserved[w] a time[x]
to oppose[y] all who are proud and haughty,
and the[z] self-exalting—
they will be humbled.
13 He will take his stand[aa] against all the cedars[ab] of Lebanon,
against the proud and self-exalting;
and against all the oaks of Bashan;
14 against all the high mountains,
and against all the lofty hills;
15 against every high tower,
and against every fortified wall;
16 against all the ships from Tarshish,
and against all their impressive watercraft.
17 “Humanity’s haughtiness will be humbled,
male arrogance will be brought low,
and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.
18 Their[ac] idols will utterly vanish.[ad]
19 “They will enter caverns in the rocks
and holes in the ground
to escape[ae] the presence of the terror of the Lord,
to escape[af] the splendor of his majesty
when he arises to terrify the earth.
20 At that time,[ag] mankind will throw
their silver and gold idols[ah]
that their fingers have made[ai] as objects of worship
to the moles and to the bats.
21 They will enter caverns in the rocks
and clefts in the cliffs,
to escape[aj] the terror of the Lord
and to escape[ak] the splendor of his majesty,
when he arises to terrorize the earth.
22 “Stop trusting in human beings,
whose life breath is in their nostrils,
for what are they[al] really worth?”[am]
