¹⁴ For the love of Christ ^(A)controls us, because we have concluded this: that ^(B)one has died for all, therefore all have died; ¹⁵ and he died for all, ^(C)that those who live might no longer live for themselves but ^(D)for him who for their sake died and was raised.

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

^15 (A)“If you love me, you will ^(B)keep my commandments.

^21 (A)Whoever has my commandments and ^(B)keeps them, he it is who loves me. And ^(C)he who loves me ^(D)will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and ^(E)manifest myself to him.”

¹⁴ As obedient children, ^(A)do not be conformed to the passions ^(B)of your former ignorance, ¹⁵ but ^(C)as he who called you is holy, you also be holy ^(D)in all your conduct, ¹⁶ since it is written, ^(E)“You shall be holy, for I am holy.” ¹⁷ And if you ^(F)call on him as Father who ^(G)judges ^(H)impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves ^(I)with fear throughout the time of your exile, ¹⁸ knowing that you ^(J)were ransomed from ^(K)the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, ¹⁹ but ^(L)with the precious blood of Christ, like that of ^(M)a lamb ^(N)without blemish or spot.
