2 Chronicles 9:22-31
English Standard Version
22 Thus King Solomon (A)excelled all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom. 23 And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put into his mind. 24 Every one of them brought his present, articles of silver and of gold, garments, myrrh,[a] spices, horses, and mules, so much year by year. 25 And Solomon had (B)4,000 stalls for horses and chariots, and 12,000 horsemen, whom he stationed in the chariot cities and with the king in Jerusalem. 26 (C)And he ruled over all the kings (D)from the Euphrates[b] to the land of the Philistines and to the border of Egypt. 27 (E)And the king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stone, and he made cedar as plentiful as the sycamore of the Shephelah. 28 (F)And horses were imported for Solomon from Egypt and from all lands.
Solomon's Death
29 (G)Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, from (H)first to last, are they not written in the history of (I)Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of (J)Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of (K)Iddo (L)the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat? 30 Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years. 31 And Solomon slept with his fathers and was buried in (M)the city of David his father, and Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.

22 King Solomon was greater in riches and wisdom than all the other kings of the earth.(A) 23 All the kings(B) of the earth sought audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart. 24 Year after year, everyone who came brought a gift(C)—articles of silver and gold, and robes, weapons and spices, and horses and mules.
25 Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots,(D) and twelve thousand horses,[a] which he kept in the chariot cities and also with him in Jerusalem. 26 He ruled(E) over all the kings from the Euphrates River(F) to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt.(G) 27 The king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar as plentiful as sycamore-fig trees in the foothills. 28 Solomon’s horses were imported from Egypt and from all other countries.
Solomon’s Death(H)
29 As for the other events of Solomon’s reign, from beginning to end, are they not written in the records of Nathan(I) the prophet, in the prophecy of Ahijah(J) the Shilonite and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam(K) son of Nebat? 30 Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years. 31 Then he rested with his ancestors and was buried in the city of David(L) his father. And Rehoboam his son succeeded him as king.
