Hosea 10:3-15
New King James Version
3 For now they say,
“We have no king,
Because we did not fear the Lord.
And as for a king, what would he do for us?”
4 They have spoken words,
Swearing falsely in making a covenant.
Thus judgment springs up (A)like hemlock in the furrows of the field.
5 The inhabitants of Samaria fear
Because of the (B)calf[a] of Beth Aven.
For its people mourn for it,
And [b]its priests shriek for it—
Because its (C)glory has departed from it.
6 The idol also shall be carried to Assyria
As a present for King (D)Jareb.
Ephraim shall receive shame,
And Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.
7 As for Samaria, her king is cut off
Like a twig on the water.
8 Also the (E)high places of [c]Aven, (F)the sin of Israel,
Shall be destroyed.
The thorn and thistle shall grow on their altars;
(G)They shall say to the mountains, “Cover us!”
And to the hills, “Fall on us!”
9 “O Israel, you have sinned from the days of (H)Gibeah;
There they stood.
The (I)battle in Gibeah against the children of [d]iniquity
Did not [e]overtake them.
10 When it is My desire, I will chasten them.
(J)Peoples shall be gathered against them
When I bind them [f]for their two transgressions.
11 Ephraim is (K)a trained heifer
That loves to thresh grain;
But I harnessed her fair neck,
I will make Ephraim [g]pull a plow.
Judah shall plow;
Jacob shall break his clods.”
12 Sow for yourselves righteousness;
Reap in mercy;
(L)Break up your fallow ground,
For it is time to seek the Lord,
Till He (M)comes and rains righteousness on you.
13 (N)You have plowed wickedness;
You have reaped iniquity.
You have eaten the fruit of lies,
Because you trusted in your own way,
In the multitude of your mighty men.
14 Therefore tumult shall arise among your people,
And all your fortresses shall be plundered
As Shalman plundered Beth Arbel in the day of battle—
A mother dashed in pieces upon her children.
15 Thus it shall be done to you, O Bethel,
Because of your great wickedness.
At dawn the king of Israel
Shall be cut off utterly.

Hosea 10:3-15
Young's Literal Translation
3 For now they say: We have no king, Because we have not feared Jehovah, And the king -- what doth he for us?
4 They have spoken words, To swear falsehood in making a covenant, And flourished as a poisonous herb hath judgment, on the furrows of a field.
5 For the calves of Beth-Aven fear do inhabitants of Samaria, Surely mourned on account of it hath its people, And its priests on account of it leap about, Because of its honour, for it hath removed from it,
6 Also it to Asshur is carried, a present to a warlike king, Shame doth Ephraim receive, And ashamed is Israel of its own counsel.
7 Cut off is Samaria! Its king [is] as a chip on the face of the waters.
8 And destroyed have been high places of Aven, the sin of Israel. Thorn and bramble go up on their altars, And they have said to hills, Cover us, And to heights, Fall upon us.
9 From the days of Gibeah thou hast sinned, O Israel, There they have stood, Not overtake them in Gibeah doth battle, Because of sons of perverseness.
10 When I desire, then I do bind them, And gathered against them have peoples, When they bind themselves to their two iniquities.
11 And Ephraim [is] a trained heifer -- loving to thresh, And I -- I have passed over on the goodness of its neck, I cause [one] to ride Ephraim, Plough doth Judah, harrow for him doth Jacob.
12 Sow for yourselves in righteousness, Reap according to loving-kindness, Till for yourselves tillage of knowledge, To seek Jehovah, Till he come and shew righteousness to you.
13 Ye have ploughed wickedness, Perversity ye have reaped, Ye have eaten the fruit of lying, For thou hast trusted in thy way, In the abundance of thy might.
14 And rise doth a tumult among thy people, And all thy fortresses are spoiled, As the spoiling of Shalman of Beth-Arbel, In a day of battle, Mother against sons dashed in pieces.
15 Thus hath Beth-El done to you, Because of the evil of your wickedness, In the dawn cut off utterly is a king of Israel!

3 Certainly now they will say, “We have (A)no king,
For we do not revere the Lord.
As for the king, what can he do for us?”
4 They speak mere words,
[a]With (B)worthless oaths they make covenants;
And (C)judgment sprouts like poisonous weeds in the furrows of the field.
5 The inhabitants of Samaria will fear
For the [b](D)calf of (E)Beth-aven.
Indeed, its people will mourn for it,
And its (F)idolatrous priests [c]will cry out over it,
Over its (G)glory, since it has left it.
6 The thing itself will be brought to (H)Assyria
As a gift of tribute to [d](I)King Jareb;
Ephraim will [e]be (J)seized with shame,
And Israel will be ashamed of its (K)own plan.
7 Samaria will be (L)destroyed with her king,
Like a twig on the surface of the water.
8 Also the (M)high places of Aven, the (N)sin of Israel, will be destroyed;
(O)Thorns and thistles will grow on their altars;
Then they will (P)say to the mountains,
“Cover us!” And to the hills, “Fall on us!”
9 Since the days of Gibeah you have sinned, Israel;
There they stand!
Will the battle against the sons of injustice not overtake them in Gibeah?
10 When it is My (Q)desire, I will [f](R)discipline them;
And (S)the peoples will be gathered against them
When they are bound for their double guilt.
11 Ephraim is a trained (T)heifer that loves to thresh,
[g]And I (U)passed over her lovely neck;
I will harness Ephraim,
Judah will plow, Jacob will [h]harrow for himself.
12 (V)Sow for yourselves, with a view to righteousness;
Harvest in accordance with [i]kindness.
(W)Break up your uncultivated ground,
For it is time to (X)seek the Lord
Until He (Y)comes and (Z)rains righteousness on you.
13 You have (AA)plowed wickedness, you have harvested injustice,
You have eaten the fruit of (AB)lies.
Because you have trusted in your way, in your (AC)many warriors,
14 An uproar will arise among your people,
And all your (AD)fortresses will be destroyed,
As Shalman destroyed Beth-arbel on the day of battle,
When (AE)mothers were [j]slaughtered with their children.
15 So it will be done to you at Bethel because of your great wickedness.
At dawn the king of Israel will be completely destroyed.
